The engine chapters go well beyond tune-up data. The manual distinguishes early and late 190/190XT transmission construction at tractor serial 9000, the Model 200 injection-timing change at engine serial 2D-69515/2D-69516, the Thompson turbocharger originally installed on 190XT tractors before engine serial 2D-13744, Model 200 steering-flow and brake revisions at 200-4001, and the Model 7000 hydraulic-pump flow-divider change at 7000-1035. Clutch-disc construction, differential fastening, alternator and starter equipment, PTO controls, and hydraulic valves are also separated where production changes affect service.

Several cautions expose repair traps that are easy to miss without the manual. The turbocharger section warns that dropping the turbine wheel and shaft, or resting even the assembled unit on its turbine blades, can damage precision parts; it also prohibits mixing early and late Rajay bearing housings and flanges because the seal groove changes location. During drivetrain repair, poor alignment while joining the transmission and torque housing can damage the front Power-Director bushing, while backing up during Model 7000 assembly can let the Power Shift clutch hubs drop out of engagement. The steering valve must retain its six centering springs in two back-to-back groups, and the brake chapters warn against stretching the return springs far enough to create drag.
