Imaging, Controls, and Firmware

The system overview follows charging and laser exposure through non-contact development, tandem transfer, and fusing. The four colors transfer in sequence as the PTB carries the paper. Color-registration sensor feedback lets the engine controller adjust image alignment.

Signal tables cover the drive components, thermistors, laser timing, and toner and belt CRUM interfaces. The software chapter explains driver communication with the Language Monitor and Status Monitor and covers USB and network firmware updates, including a USB download mode.

Assembly Handling and Diagnostic Checks

The screw tables identify fasteners by Samsung code and installation location. Samsung treats the LSU, PTB, and main and developer drive assemblies as factory-aligned service parts. Its handling instructions preserve the LSU mirror alignment, the PTB home-sensor setting, and the drive gear alignment.

With firmware 1.29 or later, the manual documents EDC access through the Windows utility for both models and through the CLP-600N control panel. The sensor test shows whether the displayed state changes as the actuator moves. Separate checks cover thermostat continuity for fuser faults and color test prints for isolating a print-quality problem.
