Hyundai Manual Features & Content Preview
- 1,502 pages across 32 PDF files, with section-specific coverage for 1999–2005 Accent GL, GT, and GLS applications; the two 182-page A4AF3 files reproduce the same article, leaving 1,320 pages of distinct content
- Engine repair coverage includes the 1999–2000 1.5L and the 2001 and 2004 1.6L DOHC engines, with removal and installation, timing systems, cylinder head and valve train, bottom-end inspection, lubrication, cooling, intake, and exhaust work
- A4AF3 automatic-transaxle diagnosis covers Hi-Scan data and DTCs, road and stall tests, oil-pressure testing, hydraulic circuits, solenoid checks, adjustments, and removal; separate M5AF3, clutch, axle-shaft, and transmission-service articles support driveline repair
- Brake and chassis material covers 2001–2002 ABS/EBD diagnostics and scan-tool bleeding, 2001 front-disc/rear-drum service, and 2004 front and rear suspension repair for hubs, bearings, struts, links, arms, bushings, and stabilizers
- Year-specific electrical books provide 2000, 2004, and 2005 wiring diagrams for engine controls, ABS, SRS, starting and charging, lighting, body electronics, power accessories, and wiper systems
- Body and equipment articles address HVAC and R-134a service, starter overhaul, doors and glass, interior trim, lighting, audio, power windows, rear wipers, cabin filters, fuses, and computer relearn behavior
This is a collection of Mitchell Repair service articles, illustrated in many places with figures credited to Hyundai Motor Co., rather than a single continuously paginated Hyundai publication. The coverage range is 1999–2005, but each article is tied to a particular year, trim, engine, or system; it should not be read as identical all-system coverage for every model year. Its diagnostic depth and reliance on scan tools, lifting equipment, presses, and dedicated service tools make it best suited to professional technicians and experienced owners already equipped for advanced repair work.

Engine, Driveline, and Chassis Detail
The 1.5L material separates 1999 and 2000 applications with G4EKX/VIN X and G4EKY/VIN Y identification entries. Across the engine group, procedures extend from compression and cooling-system tests through engine/transaxle removal, timing-belt and cam-chain service, cylinder-head disassembly, hydraulic lash adjusters, valve guides and seats, crankshaft bearing selection, pistons and rings, oil pumps, water pumps, radiators, thermostats, manifolds, catalytic converters, and exhaust components. Hundreds of numbered figures support the repair text. Component-specific torque tables, fluid capacities, inspection limits, clearances, and electrical test values are included.
The A4AF3 article supplies sectional views, fail-safe and symptom charts, DTC procedures, pressure-test locations, hydraulic diagrams for each operating range, electrical circuits, valve-body and solenoid checks, shim and thrust-component selection, PCM replacement, and shift-control service. Special-tool references include the 09452-21500 pressure gauge with adapters and the J28467-B engine support. Full internal A4AF3 overhaul instructions are not included, and the M5AF3 article refers internal overhaul work to another article that is not part of this set.
Brake and suspension coverage adds ABS/EBD fault isolation, wheel-speed-sensor and tone-wheel checks, brake bleeding, booster and proportioning-valve tests, front caliper and rotor repair, rear drum and hub service, MacPherson front struts, dual-link rear suspension, and the associated bearing and bushing press tools. The wiring pages use labeled circuits, connector identification, component locations, and system-specific diagrams rather than a single generic schematic.
Repair Notes and Safety
Timing work deserves close attention: the 2001–2005 1.6L is identified as an interference engine, so loss of cam-to-crank indexing can cause internal damage. The timing-belt material also flags tensioner-bolt order because an incorrect sequence can rotate the tensioner and overtighten the belt.
The fuel-system sections describe pressure release before injection components are disconnected. Engine/transaxle removal, brake hydraulic work, and R-134a service require suitable lifting, support, bleeding, and approved refrigerant-recovery equipment; these articles are technical repair references, not substitutes for safe shop practice.
