Daelim Manual Features & Content Preview
This PDF set pairs two English-language manuals published by DAELIM MOTOR CO., LTD.: an E-Five owner's manual for operation and routine care, and an S-Five service manual for workshop repair. The S-Five material is specific to the 49.5 cc, air-cooled SJ50E two-stroke platform. The set is suited to owners handling routine checks and to experienced mechanics equipped for electrical testing, bearing work, and spring-compression procedures; the deeper repair chapters assume practical shop skills and the listed service tools.
- 250-page PDF set: E-Five Owner's Manual, document code OM45-0204-01E (65 pages), plus S-Five Service Manual, document code SM40-0103-01E (185 pages).
- S-Five service coverage centers on the air-cooled, carbureted SJ50E two-stroke engine, separate oil-injection system, electric and kick starting, automatic centrifugal clutch, and belt-type continuously variable transmission.
- Engine and fuel repair includes engine removal, oil-pump adjustment and bleeding, PB11P carburetor teardown and testing, cylinder and piston service, crankcase separation, and crankshaft/transmission bearing work.
- V-Matic/CVT procedures cover the kick starter, drive belt, variator and weight rollers, clutch/driven pulley, clutch shoes, springs, seals, and driven-face bearings.
- Chassis and brake work addresses body-panel removal, wheels and tubeless tires, steering stem, front fork, rear cushion, rear drum brake, and front hydraulic-disc brake bleeding and overhaul.
- Electrical diagnosis covers the MF battery, charging system, A.C. generator, regulator/rectifier, CDI ignition, pulse generator, starter motor and relay, senders, switches, meter, lamps, and horn.
- Factory reference material provides maintenance schedules, torque tables, fluid data, wear limits, inspection clearances, electrical test specifications, specialized-tool listings, troubleshooting charts, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams.
Owner Operation and Routine Maintenance
The E-Five owner's manual explains the instrument panel, warning lights, switches, electric and kick starting, seat and stand locks, trunk, brake-lock lever, parking, loading, riding posture, and stopping. Its maintenance section adds pre-ride inspections and a scheduled service chart, then covers brake-fluid and friction-part checks, brake-lever adjustment, engine and transmission oil, wheels and tires, spark plug, battery, fuse, bulbs, air-cleaner element, side stand, washing, and storage. A separate safe-riding section discusses starts, turns, braking, and passenger or cargo stability.
Workshop Repair Depth
The S-Five service manual follows each major system from service information and fault isolation through removal, inspection, repair, and reassembly. Fuel-system coverage includes the tank, vacuum-operated fuel cock, air cleaner, PB11P carburetor, auto bystarter, throttle valve, inlet pipe, and reed valve. Internal engine work continues through the cylinder head, cylinder, piston and rings, final transmission, crankshaft, crankcase bearings, oil seals, and engine-hanger link.
The drivetrain chapter details drive-belt replacement, drive-face and roller inspection, clutch/driven-pulley disassembly, clutch-shoe replacement, spring checks, and driven-face bearing replacement. It also flags an alternate clutch-shoe hardware arrangement using one retainer plate instead of three washers. Brake chapters cover fluid replacement and bleeding, pad replacement, disc inspection, caliper overhaul, master-cylinder overhaul, and rear drum-brake service.
Diagnostics, Diagrams, and Service Data
Charging, ignition, and starting-system chapters include harness checks, leakage/current/voltage testing, regulator/rectifier diagnosis, A.C. generator service, ignition peak-voltage and resistance tests with the Daelim PVA multi tester, timing inspection, CDI circuit checks, and starter-motor overhaul. Section 18 supplies fault-isolation charts for hard starting, low engine output, poor low- or high-speed performance, clutch/CVT operation, fuel-gauge faults, and starter faults.
Named visual references include the oil-system drawing, CVT/clutch exploded view, crankshaft/crankcase assembly view, front-fork and steering-stem views, charging/ignition/starting device-location layouts, and the full wiring diagram. Representative tools include clutch spring compressor 07960-KM10000, crankcase puller 0751-00003, shock absorber compressor 07GM-0010000, and A.C. generator rotor puller 0750-00006.
Configuration Check Before Purchase
The two PDFs do not describe the same wheel configuration. The E-Five owner's manual specifies 130/90-10 tires front and rear, while the S-Five service manual specifies a 120/70-12 front and 130/70-12 rear. The service publication identifies its coverage from frame KMYSE1B4S1K000001 and engine SJ50E3000001. Match the model name, wheel size, and stamped serials on the scooter before applying repair specifications.
Manual-Specific Repair Cautions
The CVT chapter warns that holding the rear wheel or rear brake while loosening its locknut can damage the final-reduction system. In the fuel system, probing passages with wire can damage the carburetor body, and applying compressed air before removing the fuel-cock diaphragms can damage or dislodge them. Fuel, brake-fluid, spring, and ignition work should be performed with the safeguards and equipment specified by Daelim.
