1996 Sea-Doo GTS, GTI & GTX Shop Manual Set, Parts Catalogs & Racing Handbooks (P/N 219 100 031 / 219 100 034)

This Sea-Doo factory literature set combines the 1996 Shop Manual, P/N 219 100 031, with the GSX/GTX Shop Manual Supplement, P/N 219 100 034, for GTS, GTI and GTX service coverage. Model-specific parts catalogs, racing handbooks and a separate 1997 workshop volume are also included.

The ZIP contains 61 PDFs totaling 2,973 pages, including covers, supplements and navigation pages. Searchable text and embedded bookmarks are available, but image-only pages and some original CD-ROM links have limitations.

• Engine repair: Rotax 587, 717 and 787 removal and installation, top- and bottom-end inspection, crankshaft checks, rotary-valve timing and 787 RAVE service.

• Fuel and oil injection: Mikuni carburetor overhaul, twin-carburetor synchronization, fuel-circuit pressure testing, oil-pump adjustment and bleeding, with model-specific parts breakdowns.

GTI carburetor differences: The parts catalog separates the twin-Mikuni 5865/5866 configurations from the single-Morgenroth 5867. That distinction helps you match carburetor and fuel-system parts before ordering. Morgenroth coverage is a parts breakdown; the main shop manual identifies GTI 5865/5866 as its service applications.

GTX supplement: Use it with the main shop manual for shared engine and driveline procedures. Its additional sections address instruments, reverse, steering, hull components and specifications specific to GSX/GTX models.

Fuel, Cooling and Lubrication

Cooling-circuit illustrations show the water routing associated with the different engine and exhaust layouts. The lubrication chapter covers oil-injection pump testing and synchronization; it warns that delayed pump opening can cause serious engine damage.

Working on high-performance marine powerplants requires adhering strictly to factory torque specs and handling fuel systems in well-ventilated, spark-free environments to prevent severe ignition hazards.

Electrical Diagnosis and Wiring Coverage

Battery installation, electrical-box components and harness layouts accompany electrical test specifications. The separate MPEM Programmer Guide covers key registration and basic and advanced diagnostic modes; programming functions require the appropriate programmer.

Wiring coverage: The GSX/GTX supplement includes diagrams for models 5620 and 5640. The 1996 main PDF ends after Technical Data and omits the standalone Wiring Diagrams chapter listed in its contents. The 1997 volume provides diagrams for its own model codes, which should not be substituted for 1996 GTS/GTI diagrams.

Jet Pump, Hull and Racing References

Jet-pump repair material includes shaft and bearing inspection, seal installation and leak testing. The assembly cautions explain how a misplaced thrust bearing can become wedged in the shaft groove. Hull repair sections address composite damage, fittings and surface refinishing.

The racing handbooks add cylinder porting maps, RAVE operating explanations and propulsion-system analysis. The 1997 handbook also contains an Engine Leakage Diagnostic Flow Chart. Competition preparation is covered separately from stock repair, with racing modifications directed to skilled watercraft racing mechanics.

Factory reference tables provide torque specifications, wear limits, clearances, electrical test values and fluid capacities. These support the procedures without making the racing handbooks a substitute for the model-specific shop manual.
