Component and Systems Overview

The model matrix is especially useful because these machines are not all built the same. It distinguishes powershuttle and powershift versions, 2WD and 4WD layouts, 2WS and 4WS steering, sideshift and center-pivot backhoes, cab/ROPS equipment, and pilot versus mechanical attachment controls. Specification Highlights

The test values are configuration-specific. Turner powershuttle hydraulic checks use an 80–85°C oil temperature, with system, forward-clutch, reverse-clutch, and 4WD supply pressures at 13.7–15.2 bar and torque-converter pressure at 7–11 bar. Dana T16000 pressure and flow checks are referenced at 82–93°C; regulator pressure is 19.6–23.1 bar at 2200 rpm, activated clutch pressure is 18.1–21.5 bar, and maximum allowed transmission temperature is 120°C.

Powershuttle oil capacity is 18 L and powershift capacity is 14 L. The main hydraulic system holds 140 L on 2WS machines or 118 L on 4WS machines. Wheel-nut torque is 330 Nm front / 540 Nm rear on 2WS, versus 700 Nm front and rear on 4WS. The air-conditioning section specifies HFC 134a with a 1.2 kg refrigerant charge and PAG SP20 compressor oil.

The repair notes also flag mistakes that can turn an overhaul into another teardown. On the Turner transmission, bearing cones and shim packs can come free with the rear case, so mixing their original locations compromises the shaft end-float setup. Shaft sealing rings are installed only after shimming is complete to prevent them from being damaged during repeated case fitting. On the telescopic dipper, guide-pad retaining screws are specified at 29–31 Nm; over-tightening can damage the threaded inserts.

Before hydraulic repair, the manual requires attachments to be lowered or independently supported, the engine stopped, and residual circuit pressure relieved before lines, valves, or covers are opened. A/C work is based on HFC 134a recovery/recharge equipment rather than releasing refrigerant.
