The block chapter adds front and rear oil seals and wear sleeves, piston and rod inspection, cylinder-block reconditioning, main-bearing replacement without removing the crankshaft, crankshaft and camshaft service, flywheel and ring-gear work, and a crankcase-pressure test.
Variant control is explicit. The cylinder-head specifications distinguish U.S.-built, Darlington-built, and Neuss-built engines by engine serial break and injector-nozzle configuration. Electrical coverage separates the standard and optional battery arrangements and the 65-amp and 95-amp alternator systems. Steering repair is divided between Eaton and Danfoss units, while axle procedures are split between two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive machines. PTO-equipped machines also receive their own clutch, valve, shaft, pressure-test, and removal information.
The powertrain section combines internal repair with operational diagnosis. Its transmission troubleshooting charts address a machine that will not move, loss of power, overheated transmission oil, rapid clutch or brake-disc wear, and pinion-shaft failure. Several cautions are easy to miss during repair. The cylinder-head chapter warns that allowing an injector to rotate in its bore can damage the head, and its identification marks determine the correct head-gasket specification after resurfacing. The turbocharger section calls for lubrication before operation; a dry start or immediate loading can damage the bearings. The loader-control-valve chapter requires each section to be numbered, the inter-section O-rings held in place, and the original shim sequence restored. Losing that order during teardown risks leakage and incorrect valve alignment.
Support raised loader or backhoe structures, relieve stored hydraulic pressure, keep clear of injector test spray, and follow the refrigerant-handling instructions before opening an A/C circuit. The ROPS chapter treats a damaged cab or canopy as a replacement item rather than a weld-or-straighten repair.
