That year-specific structure matters when matching a repair procedure, connector view, or powertrain test to the truck in the bay. The separate wiring and component-location references provide supporting circuit and installation information.

Coverage limits: The year-specific service sections cover the H3, with broad vehicle coverage concentrated in 2007. This is not a complete year-by-year H3/H3T service library through 2009. The routine maintenance schedule, normal maintenance replacement-parts list, and full recommended fluid/lubricant list are referred to the Owner’s Manual.

Search and diagram detail: Service text is searchable, but many diagram labels are not searchable. None of the PDFs has embedded bookmarks. Small labels on intact wiring diagrams require zooming. Engine Overhaul, Driveline Service and Circuit Diagnosis

The following selected coverage highlights are not a complete contents list. Additional topics include sunroof drain inspection and tire-pressure sensor matching.

• Engine repair: Step-by-step procedures for compression, cylinder-leakage and oil-pressure testing, cylinder-head and valvetrain work, timing components, lubrication, sealing surfaces, and internal inspection.

• Transmission and clutch: AR5 teardown and synchronizer/shaft checks, hydraulic clutch bleeding, automatic-transmission line-pressure diagnosis, shift-solenoid testing, cooler flushing, and adaptive-pressure information.

Engine and Powertrain Repair Detail

The mechanical chapters distinguish L52, LLR, and LH8 engines rather than combining their internal repair data. Exploded views, timing diagrams, overhaul dimensions, and component-specific torque tables support the removal, inspection, and assembly procedures.

The LLR valvetrain instructions flag valve-to-piston damage associated with improper crankshaft rotation while EN-47945 is installed. This warning belongs to the rocker-arm and lash-adjuster work, not a general engine-turning procedure.

Transmission testing: The automatic chapter ties line-pressure checks to J 21867 Pressure Gage, solenoid testing to J 44246 Solenoid Testing Kit, and cooler service to J 45096 Transmission Oil Cooling System Flush and Flow Test Tool. Transmission Adaptive Pressure (TAP) reset notes explain the subsequent relearning of shift behavior.

Axle setup: The rear-axle instructions identify the collapsible-spacer problem caused by exceeding pinion rotating torque. The specified correction requires a new spacer rather than an attempt to recover the setting by loosening the nut.

Circuit References for Fault Tracing

Starting System Schematic – MA5 and Starting System Schematic – M30 distinguish the starting configurations. The 2008 wiring reference also includes the 5.3L VIN L, Engine Performance Circuit diagrams.

Fuse, relay, connector, ground, power-distribution, and component-location information gives technicians the context needed to trace a circuit rather than work from an isolated diagram.

Brake, Restraint and HVAC Service Requirements

Brake inspection material includes J 45101 Hub and Wheel Runout Gage. The ABS chapter separates automated bleeding procedures with and without RPO BRM.

PPS scope: Passenger-presence replacement instructions identify programming and re-zero requirements but refer to separate programming/setup information. A standalone PPS programming and re-zero procedure is not included.

Steering-column instructions identify J 42640 Steering Column Anti-Rotation Pin and explain how loss of the required alignment can damage the SIR coil assembly.

HVAC diagnosis: Refrigerant testing includes J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector. Separate sections address refrigerant-system performance and manual-control circuits, actuators, and air delivery.

Work involving brake hydraulics, SIR components, refrigerant circuits, rotating powertrain assemblies, and high-current electrical systems should follow the safety notices in the relevant section.

Selected Compression, Axle and A/C Specifications

The L52 and LLR compression-test procedures give a normal reading of approximately 1482 kPa (215 psi), with the battery at or near full charge. They also explain how cylinder-to-cylinder readings relate to mechanical diagnosis.

For the 2007 H3 rear axle, the backlash specification is 0.08–0.25 mm, with 0.13–0.18 mm preferred. These values accompany the differential adjustment and bearing-preload information.

The 2007 H3 refrigerant-capacity table specifies an R-134a charge of 0.68 kg (1.5 lb) and total system PAG oil capacity of 119 ml (4 oz). Separate component-replacement entries distinguish oil allowances from total system capacity.
