Several repair traps are called out directly. Twin SU carburetors are removed together to avoid damaging their spindle linkages, and their mounting nuts must be tightened evenly to prevent flange distortion. Primary-gear and torque-converter seal lips must be protected from the splines during installation; incorrect output-seal depth can obstruct the housing drain. MEMS fuel lines retain pressure after shutdown, and damaged injector-housing adapter threads can require the housing and adapters to be replaced as a set.

Engine/transmission or subframe removal requires properly rated lifting and support equipment. Hydrolastic displacer or pipe work requires the system to be depressurized, evacuated, and repressurized with the correct service equipment.
