Yamaha Grizzly 700 FI YFM7FGPW 2007–2009 ATV Service & Owner’s Manual Set (P/N LIT-11616-20-11)

The service manual covers workshop diagnosis and repair, while the owner’s manual explains operation, pre-operation checks, and routine care. Together, they connect everyday maintenance requirements with the corresponding inspection and repair procedures.

The service procedures follow the 2007 YFM7FGPW configuration, including electric power steering. Later Grizzly 700 model suffixes require their matching documentation.

Exploded diagrams and job charts identify parts and organize removal and disassembly work. The accompanying step-by-step procedures add inspection criteria, assembly notes, lubrication points, replacement requirements, tightening torques, wear limits, and clearances.

Cylinder-head coverage includes the camshaft, rocker arms, valves, and valve guides. Cylinder and piston sections address ring and piston-pin checks, while lower-engine procedures cover the starter clutch, torque limiter, balancer drive, oil-pump drive, and wet centrifugal clutch.

Transmission inspection extends to shift forks, the shift drum, shaft runout, gear engagement, and reassembly checks. Middle-gear procedures include drive and driven gear shim selection.

Reference data includes approved lubricants, tire pressures, load ratings, brake and chassis specifications, and auxiliary DC-jack limits. Riding chapters address hills, slopes, shallow-water crossings, rough terrain, sliding, skidding, and recovery from a stall or rollback.

Timing and Differential Repair Cautions

The cylinder-head section warns that turning the crankshaft during camshaft installation can disturb valve timing and cause damage. Differential cautions prohibit 12-volt gear-motor testing and limit the temporary ring-gear holding bolt to finger-tight pressure because incorrect test power or excessive bolt force can damage components.

Securely support the ATV and follow the specified electrical-isolation precautions. Observe the manual’s warnings for brake fluid, spring-loaded sheave components, hot coolant, fuel, and rotating assemblies.

Selected Valve-Clearance and Fuel-Pressure Data

Valve adjustment: With the engine cold and at room temperature, specified intake clearance is 0.09–0.13 mm and exhaust clearance is 0.16–0.20 mm. The adjustment section relates these values to compression-stroke TDC and the corresponding timing marks.

Fuel delivery: The fuel-pump and pressure-regulator check specifies 324 kPa (46.1 psi) with the engine running. The procedure identifies the required gauge and adapter and explains how an out-of-specification reading affects the repair decision.
