Fiat Manual Features & Content Preview
- Four-volume, 2,746-page PDF set for the 182-series Fiat Bravo and Brava: Volume 1, 544 pages; Volume 2, 622; Volume 3, 868; Volume 4, 712. It brings together Fiat Print/Publication Nos. 506.670/01 through 506.670/22, plus the 508.876 right-hand-drive supplement, with original 1995 material and updates issued through January 2001.
- Engine and fuel-system coverage spans 1370cc 12V, 1581cc 16V, 1747cc 16V, 1998cc 20V, 1929D, 1910TD 75/100, the 1581 automatic, later 1242cc and 1596cc Euro 3 material, and 1910 JTD updates, with system-specific injection, ignition, diesel-pump, common-rail, timing, emissions, and Fiat/Lancia Tester diagnosis.
- Drivetrain and chassis repair covers mechanical and hydraulic clutches, manual gearboxes and driveshafts, Aisin 60-40LE automatic transmission diagnosis and adjustment, Teves MK20 ABS/EBD, brake bleeding, steering gear and power-steering service, and front/rear suspension removal, inspection, geometry checks, and reassembly.
- Electrical diagnosis and occupant-safety systems include wiring diagrams, connector-block and cable-color references, symptom-based analytical charts, FIAT CODE and alarm programming/diagnosis, Air Bag/Side Bag/pretensioner procedures, instrument-panel service, electric windows, central locking, sunroof, HVAC, radio, and Euro 3 electrical updates.
- Body and trim procedures address doors, hood and tailgate, seats and interior trim, bonded-glass replacement, sunroof disassembly and adjustment, bolt-on panel replacement, structural body repair, and body-shell dimension drawings for 3-door and 5-door vehicles.
- Factory reference data and tools provide component-specific torque tables, capacities and lubricant data, pressure and electrical test specifications, clearances, inspection limits, planned maintenance, Service News oil-capacity corrections for 1.6, 1.8, TD 75, and TD 100 applications, and multi-page special-tool tables with Fiat tool numbers.
Powertrain, Chassis, and Diagnostic Coverage
The gasoline chapters are separated by management system: Bosch Monomotronic SPI, Marelli-Weber IAW-1AF, Hitachi MPI, Bosch Motronic M2.10.4, Bosch M1.5.5 and ME3.1.4, plus later EOBD/Euro 3 controls. They map ECU inputs and outputs, relays, pinouts, fuel, air and vapor circuits, component locations, fault memory, active diagnosis, emissions checks, and repair operations for injectors, throttle bodies, manifolds, sensors, and fuel pumps. Diesel material covers Lucas FT05/FTO9 pump timing and bleeding, TD fault tables and smoke checks, followed by JTD rail, high-pressure pump, EGR, turbocharging, glow-plug, and component removal and refitting procedures.
The 1581 automatic section goes beyond basic specifications. It explains Aisin electronic and hydraulic operation, selector and shift-lock circuits, diagnostic strategy, line-pressure testing, stall-speed and engagement-time checks, road testing, fluid service, and adjustment procedures. Brake coverage distinguishes front-disc/rear-drum and four-disc systems, then adds Teves MK20 hydraulic and wiring diagrams, ABS fault diagnosis, EBD, and active-sensor updates.
Useful visual references include injection-system input/output diagrams, Lucas diesel fuel and air circuit drawings, Teves MK20 ABS hydraulic and wiring diagrams, connector-block views, symptom-based electrical fault charts, and body-panel graphic indexes with body-shell dimension drawings. The embedded right-hand-drive supplement adds 1370 12V and 1910 TD 75 fuel-system, hydraulic-clutch, brake, steering, heater, instrument-panel, wiring, and dashboard repair procedures.
The special-tool tables identify applications by engine and system. Examples include 1850132000 for inlet-manifold fasteners and 1860745200, the timing-belt tensioning attachment used with 1860745100.
Scope Limits and Repair Notes
This four-volume set covers vehicle service and repair, but it is not the separate Fiat engine-overhaul manual set. The preface assigns complete internal gasoline and diesel engine overhauls to other booklets, which are not part of these PDFs. Volume 1’s engine menu also references separate removal/refitting PDF files for the 1370, 1581, 1747, 1929D, and 1998cc engines; those linked files are not embedded. The included volumes do contain power-unit removal and refitting for the 1910 TD 75/100 and 1242 16V update sections, together with JTD component removal and refitting.
The manual specifically warns that lubricating the 1998cc 20V clutch pump-to-pedal rubber bushing can deteriorate the material, and that rear coil springs must be matched by their yellow or green category marking. Air Bag/pretensioner work, pressurized JTD fuel-system service, brake hydraulics, and power-unit removal require the manual’s safety procedures and correctly rated lifting and support equipment.
