How to Identify a Yamaha Moto-4 350
Yamaha USA first introduced an all-terrain vehicle, or ATV, in 1980 when it presented the three-wheel Tri-Moto. By 1984, Yamaha's first 4-wheeler, the YFM Moto-4 was in full production. Beginning out with 80- and 200-cc models, the YFM 350 Moto-4 was presented in 1987. The YFM-350ER is the designated Moto-4 classic, lasting from 1987 until 1995, before becoming different named models, including the Raptor Big Bear, Warrior, and other YFM designations. We have Yamaha Moto-4 350 ATV 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995 Repair Service Manual Download you can access today. Yamaha Moto-4 350 identification is achieved by locating and decoding the Vehicle identification Number, or VIN. All Moto-4 models come with this standardized code stamped on the frame.
Step 1
Find the Yamaha VIN. While sitting on the car, the Vehicle identification Number is stamped on the left side of the frame. From year to year, the exact location may change, with common locations being: between the engine and the A-arm, almost 6 inches back, on the neck of the frame close to the triple-tree, or slightly forward of the front left foot peg. The frame may require to be cleaned with a wire brush for the Vehicle identification Number to be visible. Step 2
Find the Yamaha Vehicle identification Number. According to some online sources, positions 4 through 8 are the model designation code. Putting the complete 17-position VIN on a Yamaha VIN decoder, similar to the one found on Motoverse, will find the YFM-350ER.
