• Document identity and fit: An undated 187-page PDF of the Masters of Motion ATV Service Manual, Model No. 8260, carrying cover P/N 02693. The main electrical sheet is titled “ATV 260 Wiring Diagram”; the publication has no separate 300-model or 2008–2014 coverage sections.
• Chassis and final-drive work: Covers A-arm replacement, front strut and ball-joint service, swingarm bearing setup, steering-post assembly, front hub bearings, rear axle removal, axle-bearing replacement, and rear gearcase disassembly and reassembly. This is a shop repair manual, not an owner’s handbook. Its foreword says it was designed primarily for factory-certified ATV service technicians working in a properly equipped shop, and it assumes a sound knowledge of mechanical theory, tool use, and shop procedures. It is therefore suited to trained technicians and experienced repairers who already understand safe disassembly, measurement, and electrical testing; routine maintenance information does not make the overhaul chapters beginner-level.

The maintenance material includes service intervals, lubrication points, fuel-line and filter checks, wheel and tire inspection, toe alignment, suspension preload, brake inspection, and hydraulic auxiliary-brake adjustment. Cooling-system repair extends to the radiator, fan, water pump, mechanical seal, thermostat, coolant replacement, and related electrical fault isolation.

Overhaul Detail and Reference Data

Reference sections provide component-specific torque tables, engine clearances and wear limits, carburetor calibration data, CVT inspection limits, brake pad and disc limits, fluid capacities, and electrical voltage, resistance, current-draw, and continuity specifications. The procedures also identify required shop equipment, including the ball-joint service tool, engine/transmission alignment tools, valve- and clutch-spring compressors, rotor and sheave holders, flywheel puller, mechanical-seal installer, radiator-cap tester, ignition checker, tachometer, and pocket tester.

Three named exploded views cover the rear gearcase, transmission, and front brake caliper. They show component order and orientation, but this manual is not a replacement parts catalog and does not provide a complete list of orderable part numbers.

Assembly Cautions and Safety

The selector box contains spring-loaded detents, and its low and high/reverse slides have different notch patterns. Reinstalling them in the wrong channels prevents correct shifting, while closing the cover with the slides out of neutral can damage the internal butterfly. During cam-sprocket installation, the crankshaft must not be turned; the manual warns that doing so can disturb valve timing and cause damage.

Several procedures involve a supported vehicle, compressed springs, fuel, battery acid, hot pressurized coolant, and hydraulic brakes. Follow the publication’s safety instructions, use the specified tools, and leave work beyond your training or equipment to a qualified ATV technician.
