Two cautions show why the factory procedures matter. The manual warns that once the front hub nut has been loosened, rolling the vehicle or supporting its weight on the tires can damage the wheel bearing. It also identifies both 2.0L layouts as non-freewheeling and warns against rotating the camshaft or crankshaft with the timing belt removed because valvetrain damage can result.
Brake, airbag, refrigerant, and major powertrain repair requires the correct lifting, isolation, recovery, and test equipment. Those jobs should be handled by technicians with the training and tools specified for the system.
