John Deere POWERTECH E 2.4L / 3.0L Diesel Engine
John Deere parts for engines are offered for all major models, together with the six (6) cylinders, and four (4) cylinder engines, for combines, skid steers, tractors, harvesters, excavators, marine, wheel loaders, and other construction equipment.
John Deere Parts for engines have to be identified as either for a PowerTech engine or non-PowerTech engine. These credentials can best be done on the engine identification tag: - the engine will be labeled as PowerTech. Learn more about this with John Deere POWERTECH E 2.4L / 3.0L Diesel Engine Technical Service Manual Download available here.
Alternatively, an examination of the serial numbers of the engines can define if the engine is PowerTech or non PowerTech. All John Deere engines produced in Torreon, Mexico, are PowerTech engines. Others have serial number breaks that define this.
This factor is important, as a 4045 engine can be either PowerTech or a typically aspirated non-PowerTech engine. Replacement parts for both can be considerably different, as both engines were intended for different applications and for different standards.
Engine parts can be either in the engine itself, or accessories to the engine, built-in to the external body of the engine.
John Deere Engine parts for repair kits are typically sold with pistons, piston pin retainers, piston pins, rings, o ring kit, liners (cylinders of sleeves), main bearings, connecting rod bearings, connecting rod bushings and bolts, front crankshaft seal, rear crankshaft seal, and thrust washers. The whole gasket repair set includes the head gasket set, lower oil pan set, and other gaskets for water pump, hydraulic pumps, oil pump, injector grommets, and exhaust manifold gaskets.
The external engine parts can include the injectors, rebuilt, new or good used, oil pump, crankshafts, tachometer cable, timing chain gear, exhaust manifold, flywheel, fuel lift pump, ring gear, carb kit, sending units and sensors, gauges, and valve train kits.
