Supplement scope: The G11A and G20A sections are not stand-alone repair manuals. They provide model-specific maintenance charts, specifications, cable/wire routing and emission-control layouts, with G11A towbar information and a G20A wiring diagram; their repair instructions depend on the earlier publications.

Gas Powertrain Repair and Electric-Drive Diagnosis

G14 and G16 Gas-Model Service

The G14 base manual provides the nine-chapter foundation, from general information and periodic adjustment through chassis, powertrain, engine overhaul, carburetion, electrical diagnosis, troubleshooting and specifications.

The G16 supplement supplies the changes for its gas engine, primary clutch, transmission, carburetor and TCI ignition. Its transmission section distinguishes in-chassis service from removal of the complete assembly; G16E work relies largely on the included G14E material.

Carburetor differences: The G16A float height is factory-set, with component replacement specified when it falls outside the stated range. Throttle-valve service requires carburetor replacement.

The G16A cautions address slider damage from overheating the clutch spider and broken float stanchions from mishandling the staked carburetor float pin.

Traction Motors, Controllers and Charging Faults

The G14E material explains its FET control system and provides motor, throttle-sensor, solenoid, charging-receptacle and direction-switch checks. Battery discharge-testing instructions include temperature-adjustment charts and recording sheets for individual battery readings.

The G19E supplement addresses its 48-volt GE motor, speed sensor, controller and automatic charger. Charger LED tables distinguish normal charging stages from abnormal cycles, while diagnostic sections separate rough acceleration, reduced speed, one-direction operation and no-run conditions according to solenoid response.

Rollaway-control diagnosis: Speed-sensor wiring, output and magnet checks help distinguish sensor faults from controller faults when the car fails to slow downhill. The text also warns that probing the controller plug carelessly can damage its female terminals and introduce further faults.

Electric-drive work requires securing the vehicle and discharging the controller capacitor before contact with power components. The gas-model sections address fuel-fire and rotating-drive hazards.

For G16A cylinder-head inspection, the specified warp limit is less than 0.03 mm (0.001 in). Its valve section separately identifies the applicable seat cutters and inspection limits.

The G19E traction-motor testing section specifies field-coil resistance between F1 and F2 as 0.9–1.1 ohms at 20°C (68°F), alongside separate armature and insulation checks.
