Perkins 1006 Engine Specifications and Service

Technical data specifically covers the Perkins 1006 series engine. The 105 and 115 use naturally aspirated 1006.6HR4 and 1006.6HR3 engines with Lucas-CAV injection pumps. The 130, 145, and 165 use turbocharged 1006.6TLR2, 1006.6THR2, and 1006.6TMR4 engines with Stanadyne DB2 pumps.

The engine section explains Quadram combustion and provides cylinder-head gasket and angular bolt-tightening data, piston and liner service differences, and crankshaft regrinding requirements. Lubrication and cooling circuit descriptions accompany troubleshooting charts for starting problems, power loss, exhaust smoke, oil pressure, and overheating.

Drivetrain Repair and Axle Applications
