Carburetor Variants and Adjustment

Fuel-tank removal, strainer cleaning, and air-cleaner service accompany the carburetor repair procedures. The XR80R section includes an idle-drop procedure; separate guidance covers the XR100R pilot screw.
The cautions explain how overtightening can damage the air-screw or pilot-screw seat. High-altitude guidance also warns that using the altitude-specific jetting at lower elevations can overheat and damage the engine.
Engine and Component Specifications
The manual distinguishes work possible with the engine installed from jobs requiring removal. The camshaft, clutch, primary drive gear, and gearshift linkage can be serviced in the frame. Cylinder-head, cylinder/piston, and internal transmission work require engine removal.

CDI fault isolation uses a connector test chart and elimination of other components; it does not directly test the CDI unit’s advance circuitry.
