Parts Lookup and Field Supplements
Both Toyota parts catalogs are dated January 2005 (01/05 MAIN) and marked 48V SPEC. Their cover option lines identify dead-man brake, E.E.C., electric power steering, EZ Pedal, load-handling chopper, motor-brush warning, and UL-approved Type ES configurations. English, French, German, and Spanish listings use figure-based part-name codes rather than a conventional full part-number list; only standard hardware is routinely numbered. Toyota directs users to supply the exact model, frame number, option data, and part-name code so a dealer can decode the service part number.
One Excel supplement covers the dual-contactor and CPU-ROM conversion, separating ROM versions by CPU-board P/N 24210-21440-71, 24210-21441-71, and 24210-21442-71. It adds CN137/CN112 harness views, contactor checks, and a CF error chart. The key-off lighting workbook supplies a relay-modification drawing and expressly warns that the change voids the truck’s UL status. The separate OPSS PDF is an electrical appendix only, not a complete OPSS repair chapter.
Scope Notes Before Purchase
The 918-page repair manual states that its base coverage reflects vehicles as of July 2001. An opening SIB/TNB/Hotline Tech Tip reference index is revised January 31, 2008, but the listed bulletin PDFs are not included. The 67-page standalone appendix repeats the final 67 pages of the main repair PDF, providing a separate SST, service-standard, connector, and wiring reference rather than additional repair content. For detailed SAS function and operating explanations, the repair manual refers readers to separate New Model Feature Pub. No. PU312, which is not part of this set.
Toyota warns that poor controller-connector engagement can damage controller elements, while disassembling the sealed SAS swing-lock cylinder admits air and makes the cylinder non-reusable. Electrical repair requires the traction battery to be disconnected and the controller capacitor fully discharged; the truck and raised mast components must be supported with correctly rated equipment before service.
