Brake, steering and suspension service

Brake coverage extends to pad replacement, disc wear and runout checks, and separate front and rear hydraulic circuits. Wheel service includes axle and rim inspection, front bearing replacement, and balancing.

Front-fork procedures cover oil-level checks, disassembly, seals, bushings, and internal component inspection. Steering bearing adjustment and rear shock preload are also covered. The steering section warns that forcing the adjusting nut can damage the bearings.

The engine connection link and its fulcrum pin nut receive separate attention, including silent-block inspection and component-specific torque data.

1997 updates and air-filter precautions

The Updates section revises air-filter details, fuse locations, electrical component positions, and the complete wiring diagram. Its revised fuse layout groups the fuses beneath the battery cover, helping match electrical access information to the updated configuration.

Air-filter coverage distinguishes the engine-intake element from the drive-belt housing filter. The manual warns that oil carried into the belt housing can damage the drive belt or cause slipping.
