The separate 201-page Service Support Guide 10.02 file is a legacy cross-model archive rather than another C770-series manual. It collects service tips issued through 2002 for older equipment such as Optra S and Optra C printers, the C750, earlier inkjet products, and 23XX forms printers. The six All Business Printers bulletins are also general notices; only selected subjects, including memory policy and the 2007 daylight-saving-time code update, directly involve the covered network printers.

Repair Cautions and Bench Use

The printhead section warns against loosening more than one printhead at a time and requires the temporary alignment assemblies to be removed after mechanical adjustment; leaving those fixtures installed can damage the printer. Bulletin C7xx_119 also traces post-repair 10x.05 faults to a mirror-motor cable connected upside down at the system board, an error that can lead to replacement of both the printhead and board.

These printers combine substantial machine weight with high-voltage circuitry and a hot fuser. Disconnect the power source, allow the fuser to cool, remove installed options before lifting, and follow the manual’s multi-person handling instructions before beginning internal repair work.
