1983 Honda CX650C & CX650 Turbo Factory Shop Manual Set (P/N 61ME800 / HM 1055)

Scanned Honda shop manuals for the 1983 CX650C Custom and CX650 Turbo, covering the carbureted and Computerized Fuel Injection (CFI) versions in separate publications. Both were issued in December 1982: CX650C P/N 61ME800 and Turbo cover Part No. HM 1055.

The ZIP contains two English-language PDFs totaling 677 pages. The Turbo scan has a missing camshaft/cam-chain page, repeated pages and some pages out of sequence.

Engine Repair and Factory Specifications

The engine chapters cover valve-guide replacement, valve-seat grinding, rocker-arm inspection and crankshaft bearing selection. Cylinder-head bolt torque tables, intake and exhaust valve-clearance data, valve-seat width specifications and rocker-arm shaft wear limits accompany the repair procedures.

The CX650C manual distinguishes in-frame cylinder-head service from engine-out water-pump mechanical-seal replacement. That distinction helps plan access before a cooling-system repair, alongside the coolant-capacity data and system tests.

Turbo timing coverage: Printed page 11-9 is missing, and page 11-10 appears after page 12-0. The Turbo scan cannot serve as a complete reference for valve timing and cam-chain installation.

Carburetors, CFI and Turbocharger Diagnosis

CX650C fuel-system coverage extends to vacuum pistons, air cut-off valves, accelerator pumps and pilot-screw adjustment, including the idle-drop procedure and high-altitude settings. Carburetor separation cautions address damage to the fuel joint pipes and throttle linkage.

Turbo diagnostics connect ECU LED patterns and fail-safe modes with individual pressure, temperature, throttle, engine-speed and crankshaft-angle sensor tests. These charts help distinguish sensor or wiring faults from fuel-delivery problems before parts are replaced.

The P2 and PB pressure-sensor tests include atmospheric-pressure compensation and reference the combination pressure tester 07406-0050000 and inspection adapter 07999-MC70000.

The turbocharger is treated as a replaceable assembly, with internal disassembly excluded. Handling cautions explain why a bent wastegate actuator rod requires replacement of the turbocharger assembly.

Brakes, Suspension and Shaft Drive

The CX650C sections cover its front disc brake, rear drum brake and twin rear shocks. Turbo-specific material addresses front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, TRAC anti-dive forks and Pro-Link rear suspension, including linkage inspection and shock-absorber seal replacement.

Final-drive repair goes beyond lubricant changes: ring-and-pinion contact patterns, spacer selection, backlash measurement and bearing preload are documented.

Electrical Tests and Reference Diagrams

Charging-output checks, regulator/rectifier tests, ignition-coil inspection and starter-motor service are supported by system illustrations. References include the CX650C Ignition System Diagram, Battery Charging Diagram and foldout Wiring Diagram.
