FJR13AE Clutch and YCC-S Service

The AE uses electronically controlled clutch and shift actuators with an MCU; YCC-S still requires rider-selected gear changes. Its clutch procedures include vacuum-assisted bleeding, pressure-plate-stroke measurement, friction-plate break-in after replacement, and checks for rear-wheel drag and starting-off behavior.

The specified bleeding equipment includes vacuum/pressure pump gauge set 90890-06756 / YS-42423. Gear-position-sensor installation and adjustment receive separate coverage, with a warning that installation outside neutral can damage the sensor.

Unified Brakes, ABS, and Chassis

Brake coverage distinguishes the linked right-front circuit, proportioning valve, and metering valve. The manual documents the required bleeding sequence and hydraulic-unit response tests; the ABS ECU and hydraulic unit are integrated assemblies that cannot be disassembled.

Steering-head procedures cover bearing and race replacement. Front-fork sections address internal inspection, seals, bushings, and damper assembly, alongside suspension adjustment data and swingarm service.

Brake and clutch work requires close attention to the manual’s hydraulic-system warnings and post-service checks.

Fuel Delivery and Cooling

Fuel-system work includes throttle-position-sensor adjustment and California-specific tank breather and overflow connections. Cooling coverage extends to oil-cooler removal, thermostat testing, radiator pressure checks, and water-pump mechanical-seal replacement.

Diagnostic Tables and System Drawings

These examples show a small selection of the engine service specifications. For both covered models, valve clearance on a cold engine at room temperature is 0.15–0.22 mm intake and 0.18–0.25 mm exhaust.

The cooling table lists 2.60 L as radiator capacity including all routes, with separate entries for the radiator alone and the coolant reservoir.

Cylinder-head data specifies a 175–185° final angle for the M10 bolts as part of a multistage tightening procedure.
