The Buell XB12X Ulysses motorbike was designed to give the best performance using unleaded gasoline. If it is necessary to add oil and Harley-Davidson oil is not available, use an oil certified for diesel engines. Do not operate the engine when the oil level is below the add mark on the dipstick at opening temperature. Engine damage will result. The tank never overflows with oil. Doing this so result in oil carryover to the air cleaner leading to equipment damage or equipment malfunction.
Check that no Lubricant gets into tires, wheels, or brakes when changing the fluid. Traction can be adversely affected, which could result in loss of control of the motorbike and death or serious injury. Compressed air can pierce the skin and flying debris from compressed air could cause serious eye injury.
In this manual, Buell warns that direct contact of D.O.T. 4 brake fluid with eyes causes irritations. Avoid eye contact. Use only new copper crush banjo washers with D.O.T 4 brake fluid. Use denatured alcohol to clean brake system components. Do not use mineral-based solvents, which will deteriorate rubber parts even after assembly. After repairing the brake system, test brakes at low speed. Threaded should not be adjusted to the point of contacting the brake pedal.
