Deck service covers the 38-, 42-, and 46-inch configurations, including suspension adjustment, belt routing, spindle brakes, and side-to-side and front-to-rear leveling. The spindle and pulley are replaced as a complete assembly; the manual identifies the spindles as nonserviceable.

Blade and drive-system work requires the manual’s ignition-isolation, stopped-component, and machine-support precautions.

Examples of Engine Inspection and Assembly Data

For the 16 HP Vanguard V-Twin, the cylinder-bore standard dimension is 68–68.025 mm. The single-cylinder repair tables identify 31.80 mm as the connecting-rod crankpin bearing wear limit, rather than a standard new-part dimension.

The single-cylinder engine section also specifies a flywheel-nut torque of 115.6 N·m. These examples accompany the engine-specific inspection limits and assembly specifications.
