• Early Gallardo L140 coupe documentation combines a December 2003 parts catalog and 2003 workshop chapters with the July 2004 service campaign and market-labeled wiring supplements.
• Powertrain sections cover removal for both manual and robotized E-gear configurations, mechanical camshaft timing, clutch/flywheel replacement, and gearbox and front-differential removal.
• Brake repair includes bleeding, pad and rotor replacement, and parking-brake adjustment. Suspension coverage addresses ride height, wheel alignment, shim adjustments, and shock replacement.

This set documents the original 5.0-liter V10 and permanent four-wheel-drive layout. The repair sections are written for shop foremen and skilled service personnel with high-performance-vehicle training and suitable workshop equipment.

Beyond the major assembly work, the engine chapters address dry-sump oil service, belt-tension inspection, fuel-filter and activated-carbon-canister replacement, and pre- and post-catalyst oxygen-sensor replacement. The parts catalog's Group 103 identifies crankcase and cylinder-head components. Group 301 includes “Gearbox Oil Pump” and “E-gear Actuator: Assembly” plates, showing how these assemblies break down into individually identified parts.

The E-gear removal section warns that moving the actuator can damage its hydraulic lines if the hoses are bent. Oil-level instructions separately explain how overfilling can damage the catalytic converters.

Pressurized fuel and cooling systems, airbag circuits, and refrigerant service require the precautions specified in the relevant procedures.

VIN-Specific Campaign and Programming Information

The July 2004 campaign assigns operations by VIN rather than applying every update to every car. For example, water-pump replacement procedure L140-01.04 covers VIN endings 4LA00060–4LA00086. Other campaign procedures address coil-cover installation and thermocouple-interface replacement.

ECU reflash instructions distinguish manual and E-gear cars, Step 1 and Step 3 programming versions, and European MY04 files. They identify the Type C CAN interface P/N 69190056 and cover post-update self-learning checks. This is programming documentation; diagnostic software, interfaces, and flash files are not included.

Wiring Diagrams and Connector Views

Named drawings include “Right and Left Radiator Fans” (EL0403), “ABS System” (EL0901), “Airbag System” (EL1001), and “Board Computer–OBD II Diagnosis Socket” (EL1316). Companion connector views provide pin numbers and component references for tracing the matching circuits.

The four PDFs total 1,441 pages: the 1,397-page main compilation, 14-page Gallardo Highlights, 3-page USA/Canada options list, and 27-page 2006 press kit.

The main PDF contains 196 pages of parts diagrams and tables, 61 pages of technical updates, 278 pages of workshop and diagnostic material, and 286 pages of wiring documentation. Its remaining content is 574 pages of historical price and inventory listings plus two covers. Some workshop material is repeated, so the total is not a count of unique repair instructions.

The workshop scope does not include full internal engine or gearbox overhaul. Later press material does not extend the workshop coverage to later Gallardo variants or other Lamborghini models.
