Lamborghini Gallardo 2003–2006 Manual Set: Workshop, Parts & Wiring

The workshop chapters explain how to service the early coupe. The parts plates help identify the components involved, while the campaign tables match specific jobs, parts kits, and labor times to the car’s VIN.

Repair scope: The workshop material covers assembly removal and selected repairs. It does not include a full internal engine or gearbox overhaul or a standalone flat-rate manual. The press kit discusses the Gallardo Spyder and Gallardo Nera; workshop coverage is for the early L140 coupe.

Search and navigation: The main PDF has searchable workshop and campaign text, plus searchable parts and wiring headings. Part numbers inside the catalog tables and labels inside the wiring drawings are image-based. Bookmarks lead to the parts plates and major sections, though some entries do not jump to a page. Small pin numbers and wire codes are clearest when zoomed in. The three companion PDFs have searchable text; only the USA/Canada options list has a bookmark.

The ZIP contains 1,441 pages across four printable PDFs, plus a separate WMV exhaust video. The 1,397-page main PDF includes the first four publications in the table, two cover pages, and 574 pages of historical price and inventory listings. V10 Service, Drivetrain Repair, and Electrical Diagnosis

These selected topics show the range of workshop and reference material. The workshop chapters also include European scheduled maintenance tables and cabin pollen filter replacement.

• Engine and drivetrain: Step-by-step powertrain removal for manual and E-gear cars, mechanical camshaft timing, clutch and flywheel replacement, and gearbox and front differential removal.

• Brakes, steering, and suspension: Brake bleeding, pad and rotor replacement, parking brake adjustment, power steering pump replacement, and ride height and alignment checks with shim adjustments.

• Diagnostics: LaRa-AS fault memory readout and LDAS32 engine management data. OBD-II tables explain monitor criteria and fault activation for misfires, oxygen sensors, and other systems.

• Cabin and body: Passenger airbag replacement, rear bumper and wheel arch liner removal, and R134a refrigerant recovery, evacuation, leak checks, and charging.

• Parts and wiring: Numbered exploded views paired with part numbers, quantities, and version notes. Circuit drawings and connector views show where to trace wiring and locate individual pins.

The workshop manual is written for shop foremen and skilled service personnel with the training and equipment needed to work on high-performance vehicles.

Engine Service and Clutch Setup

Engine maintenance includes dry-sump oil and filter service, belt tension checks, fuel filter and activated charcoal canister replacement, and pre- and post-catalyst oxygen sensor replacement. Mechanical timing calls out camshaft tool P/N 61195056 and flywheel-side crankshaft rotation tool P/N 61495035.

The clutch chapter covers manual clutch bleeding and separate run-in procedures for manual and E-gear cars. It calls for E-gear initialization after clutch replacement; the gearbox chapter separately covers manual shift cable adjustment and E-gear hydraulic fluid checks.

The E-gear removal section warns that bending the actuator hoses can damage the hydraulic lines. The dry-sump oil procedure explains why overfilling can damage the catalytic converters. The fuel, cooling, airbag, and A/C procedures include precautions for pressurized systems, battery isolation, and refrigerant handling.

VIN Campaign and ECU Programming

The July 2004 campaign assigns water pump replacement (L140-01.04), thermocouple interface replacement, ignition coil cover installation, and other work by VIN. The group tables let a shop check which operations apply and plan the job using the listed labor times and parts kits.

Separate ECU reflash instructions cover manual and E-gear cars, Step 1 and Step 3 software, and European MY04 files. They identify the Type C CAN interface (P/N 69190056) and describe post-update self-learning checks. The download contains the programming instructions; the diagnostic software, interface, and flash files are separate.

Parts Plates and Market-Specific Wiring

Parts catalog Group 103 identifies crankcase and cylinder head components. Group 301 breaks down the gearbox oil pump and E-gear actuator assembly so individual components can be matched to the parts tables. The Highlights document explains the aluminum spaceframe and vehicle systems; it is an engineering overview, not a structural repair guide.

Wiring examples include radiator fans (EL0403), ABS (EL0901), airbags (EL1001), E-gear (EL1101), and the board computer and OBD-II diagnostic socket (EL1316). The December 2004 sheets are marked USA MY2004 AT. Check that label when selecting a circuit; the connector views identify the pins and components referenced in the corresponding drawing.

Selected Rotor Wear and Engine Service Specs

The early coupe’s brake chapter gives the stamped rotor wear limits as 32.4 mm at the front and 30.4 mm at the rear.

Engine maintenance specifies a 0.75–0.80 mm electrode gap for Champion QC59YC-ST spark plugs and a belt tension reading of 140 ± 4 Hz at the sensor position shown in the alternator drive belt illustration.
