2005–2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee (Laredo, Limited, Overland, SRT8) Manual (P/N 81-370-05064)

This factory service manual set is specific to the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The 3.0L turbo-diesel appears in the VIN/application information and in diesel-specific cooling and selected electronic or transmission references. However, the full engine-mechanical repair chapters in this set are for the 3.7L, 4.7L, and 5.7L gasoline engines. A complete internal 3.0L diesel overhaul chapter is not included.

Factory Diagnostic and Repair Depth

The 545RFE section includes hydraulic schematics, pressure-test locations, clutch operation checks, clutch-pack and planetary repair, oil-pump inspection, solenoid/TRS service, and valve-body teardown. The NAG1 section covers mechanical power flow, emergency-running operation, input and holding clutches, the electrohydraulic control unit, planetary geartrain, solenoids, sensors, and internal disassembly and assembly. Final Drive Control Module information connects active transfer-case operation with front and rear electronic limited-slip differential control.

Brake coverage separates base-brake repair from ABS, traction-control, and ESP diagnosis. It includes manual, pressure, master-cylinder, and ABS bleeding procedures, wheel-speed and dynamics-sensor diagnosis, active-brake-booster information, and ESP sensor calibration.

Two cautions show why the factory procedures matter: the steering control module/clockspring must remain centered after related column or steering-shaft work or its internal tape can be damaged. During axle repair, incorrect pinion-preload handling can damage the collapsible spacer and bearings.
