FD620D Engine, Fuel and Cooling Service

Engine inspection data covers cylinder-head flatness, valve guides, piston and ring wear, connecting rods and crankshaft bearings. Valve seating surface drawings illustrate acceptable contact patterns, while the cylinder-boring section distinguishes initial machining from finish honing.

Carburetor repair includes an exploded parts view and float-level adjustment. Fuel shutoff-solenoid and fuel-pump tests accompany the governor and idle adjustments. Cooling-system procedures cover leak testing, flushing, water-pump inspection, fan-bearing replacement and thermal-switch checks.

Removing Torqmotor main shaft bearings destroys them; replacement bearings are unavailable. Rotor-set replacement requires replacement of the complete Torqmotor.

Steering, Reel Drive and Backlapping Valves

Steering-system and steering-valve leakage tests help separate control-unit leakage from steering-cylinder leakage. The manual describes steering-control-unit disassembly and assembly, relief-pressure testing, and rear-wheel pivot and bushing service.

Reel-drive coverage includes Danfoss gear-pump and motor repair, case-drain checks, and the flow-control valve and logic element. Hydraulic schematics show the steering and lift cylinders, while the Lift Valve Repair exploded view identifies internal components.

Backlapping valve variants: Before serial number MO2653A/B030001, the forward/reverse control uses a pull-and-turn detent. From MO2653A/B030001 onward, it uses a push-pull valve. This identifies the valve configuration before service.

Cutting-Unit Repair and Cut-Quality Checks

The FD620D capacity table lists 0.95 L of coolant and 2.1 L of crankcase oil with the filter.

Cylinder-head reassembly is a staged tightening procedure with manifold installation before the 21 N·m final torque. The separate flywheel-nut specification is 108 N·m (80 lb-ft.).
