Important Repair Notes
Two XR650R repair traps are called out clearly. Installing the engine-oil filter backward can cause severe engine damage, and the crankcase halves must not be forced together when a shaft, dowel, or internal part is misaligned. The rear shock contains high-pressure nitrogen, while the fuel and hydraulic brake sections require careful control of flammable fuel, brake-fluid contamination, and system bleeding.
