Service-Critical Notes

The MFWD clutch pack must match the model, serial range, and equipment level; mixing disc counts or spacer arrangements changes the operating stack. Early and late 40 cc pump stroke-control housings share a bolt pattern even though their high-pressure passages do not align, so mismatching them can damage the pump and create a pressure hazard. On hydraulic-clutch models, the cylinders require DOT 4 brake fluid—oil or grease damages the seals.

Tractor splitting, axle removal, and hydraulic testing require stable stands, controlled lifting, and released system pressure. On an MFWD tractor with the rear wheels supported off the ground, the front wheels must also be raised because loss of electrical power or transmission pressure can engage the front drive.
