Selected Cable-Freeplay and Chain-Slack Specifications

The throttle section specifies lever freeplay of 3–8 mm (0.1–0.3 in), while the clutch section specifies 10–20 mm (0.4–0.8 in) at the clutch lever. Both sections include adjuster illustrations and checks of control operation.

For drive-chain inspection with the engine off and transmission in neutral, the specified slack is 30–40 mm (1.2–1.6 in), measured midway between the sprockets.
