Exact Model and Build Identification

The TX1300 and TX1500 are the 2-wheel-drive models; the TX1300F and TX1500F are the 4-wheel-drive versions. The parts catalog identifies E31 tractors with low-lug tires and E32 tractors with turf tires. It assigns the KE70-11GF 2-cylinder diesel to TX1300/TX1300F builds and the KE75-11GF to TX1500/TX1500F builds. A separate Fig. 7A fuel-supply plate is labeled for KE70-11GE and KE75-11GE engines, making the engine suffix worth checking before fuel-system parts are ordered.

The service volume also retains comparative TX1000/TX1000F and KE55 family data. The model-quantity columns in the parts volume remain the controlling reference for the four tractors sold with this set.

Repair, Test, and Reference Depth

Engine chapters document disassembly, inspection, reassembly, and adjustment of the cylinder head and crankcase, followed by lubrication, fuel, cooling, and electrical-system work. Test and specification coverage includes compression standards, injection-nozzle spray and opening checks, injection-pump leakage checks, starter no-load diagnosis, alternator output testing, regulator checks, and glow-system inspection. Factory reference sections contain service standards, correction and usable limits, torque charts, stud-bolt and lock-wire lists, sealing-agent locations, lubrication and capacity data, and electrical test specifications.

Two engine tools are identified by number: MD998130 piston-pin setting tool and ST33210-0 main-bearing installer. Useful diagrams include the 2WD/4WD power-train layouts, engine and cylinder-head section views, fuel-injection-pump section view, starter and alternator section views, transmission construction and shift-pattern diagrams, and electrical wiring and grounding-location drawings.

Serial-Break Parts Identification

The early/late clutch-housing and pedal plates separate TX1300 through S/N 103150 from 103151 and later; TX1500 through 103882 from 103883 and later; TX1300F through 013253 from 013254 and later; and TX1500F through 007348 from 007349 and later. Engine listings also mark later cylinder-head hardware at engine No. 1300 43399 and higher and 1500 35633 and higher, and split piston/ring applications at 1300-series engine S/N 51000/51001 and 1500-series engine S/N 32790/32791. These breaks are tied directly to callouts and parts codes rather than presented as a generic model list.

Rotary Hoe, Operation, and Scope

The rotary-hoe chapter distinguishes side-drive CD and center-drive N units, with blade arrangements for flat tilling, inside and outside hilling, standard tilling, and applicable extension-rotor setups. It also includes a mounting note for TX1300F tractors through serial 5000.

The Safety and Operation Instructions are expressly limited to safety, operation, and general maintenance rather than major repair. That volume covers controls, starting and cold-weather use, hydraulic operation, lubrication, routine adjustments, fuel-system air bleeding, problem-solving charts, the electrical wiring diagram, three-point-hitch assembly, and storage. Major repair work belongs to the service volume.

The service instructions distinguish the pressed KE70 piston-pin arrangement from the KE75 full-floating design; applying the wrong method can damage the piston or connecting rod. They also warn that incorrect main-bearing orientation or lost oil-hole alignment can obstruct lubrication and damage the bearing and crankshaft. Tractor splitting, raised-implement work, and PTO service require secure support, engine shutdown, and electrical isolation.
