Engine, Fuel, and Boost-Control Repair
The technical-data section separates the 2.0-, 2.5-, and 2.8-liter V-6 builds and identifies the AM452/09 and AM470, AM471, AM453 and AM472, AM473, and AM475 engine families. Several factory notes prevent expensive mistakes. From Biturbo 2000 production no. 7032 and 2000 S no. 284, revised clutch mechanism and disc parts are identified; on earlier cars, both components must be changed together if either is replaced. The differential chapter requires matched hypoid pinion and ring-gear numbers and warns against over-spreading the axle housing, which can distort the case and compromise setup. During timing work, the pressed crankshaft timing pin must not be damaged or lost because it provides the indexing reference.
Fuel-pressure testing, refrigerant service, brake bleeding, and engine or transmission removal require proper isolation, recovery, lifting, and support equipment before a pressurized line or major assembly is opened.
