Factory Engine and Chassis Specifications
This is the CR250R-specific Honda workshop publication, not a generic maintenance guide. The opening section supplies model-identification locations, service rules, general and component torque data, special-tool lists, lubrication and seal-point charts, cable and harness routing, and optional carburetor, sprocket, seat, fork-spring, and shock-spring information. Several repair cautions are specific to this engine and chassis. Rotating the cylinder while sliding it over the piston can catch and break a ring at a cylinder port. A bent sub-exhaust-valve shaft or incorrectly aligned RC Valve linkage can prevent the exhaust-control system from operating. The fork chapter also warns that improper damper-adjuster position during cap removal can damage the adjuster needle and impair rebound damping.
Fuel-system work, pressurized cooling service, hydraulic brake repair, and the nitrogen-charged shock absorber require the correct tools and workshop experience. Follow Honda’s cautions and pressure-release instructions before disassembly.
