Engine and Transmission Repair

The centrifugal-clutch section flags a left-hand retaining nut, where an incorrect loosening direction risks thread damage.

Differential Setup and Gear Case Repair

Tooth-contact pattern illustrations support secondary bevel-gear setup. Separate front differential and rear gear case procedures address ring-gear backlash, end play, thrust-button shimming, bearings and axle seals.

The pinion lock-collar instructions distinguish right-hand threads in the front differential from left-hand threads in the rear gear case. They warn that remaining staked material can destroy the housing threads during collar removal.

Cooling and Oil-System Diagnosis

Radiator removal and thermostat testing accompany water-pump replacement and oil-pressure diagnosis. The water pump and oil pump are non-serviceable assemblies; the documented repair approach is replacement rather than internal rebuilding.

Electrical Data and EFI Diagnosis

The fuel and electrical sections connect fuel-pump checks, throttle-body service and TPS adjustment with DTC identification. The code table lists ECU pins and circuit fault descriptions, helping technicians match a reported fault to the appropriate component test.

Stator/magneto, ignition-coil and starter-relay tests identify test leads and connector terminals. Visual references include the Fuse Block/Power Distribution Module layout, Gear Position Switch pin view and TPS terminal views. This file does not include a complete vehicle wiring diagram.

TPS adjustment uses an analyzer tool and matching harness. Electrical testing specifies a multimeter, with a peak-voltage adapter required for peak measurements.

Hydraulic Brakes, Suspension and Steering

Caliper procedures cover piston and seal inspection, reassembly and bleeding. The hand-brake master cylinder and shock absorbers are replacement assemblies. Steering coverage extends to tie rods, wheel hubs, knuckle bearings and toe-out, with condition/remedy tables for handling faults.

Support-stand warnings accompany axle and suspension work. Arctic Cat recommends that hydraulic brake service be performed by authorized Arctic Cat ATV dealers.

Selected Tune-Up and Rear Drive Specifications

Ignition and valve settings: The NGK CR7E spark plug gap is 0.7–0.8 mm (0.028–0.031 in.). The valve/tappet adjustment section gives cold clearances of 0.076–0.127 mm for the intake and 0.152–0.203 mm for the exhaust.

Rear drive lubrication: The rear gear case takes 250 ml (8.5 fl oz) of SAE 80W-90 hypoid lubricant, with the specified level one inch below the filler-plug threads.
