Mechanical and Hydraulic Repair Coverage

Hydraulics is the main repair section. It covers fluid-cleanliness requirements, hose connection and disconnection, Standard and High-flow auxiliary gear pumps, tandem hydrostatic pumps, the pump/engine coupling, drive motors with integral brakes, loader and excavator valves, the pressure-reducing solenoid or later brake valve, servo joysticks, rams, filters, the suction strainer, and the optional hand-tool circuit. Fault-finding charts isolate hydrostatic travel and loader/excavator circuit problems before component repair begins.

Factory procedures address pump and motor removal, early-pump disassembly, later-pump shaft-seal and valve service, charge-pressure and neutral adjustment, motor leakage-rate testing, joystick-line checks, main and auxiliary relief-valve testing, valve dismantling, ram resealing, and start-up after pump or motor replacement. A complete rebuild of the later hydrostatic pump requires a dynamic test jig, so its internal repair coverage is limited to the shaft seal, charge/high-pressure valves, charge/anti-stall valve, and related adjustments.

Body and framework chapters cover floor-plate access and removal/replacement of the loader arm, dipper, boom, kingpost, and slew cylinders. Section F deals with roadwheels and chain-case wheel hubs; the hydrostatic travel system is covered under Hydraulics rather than as a conventional gearbox.
