This Husqvarna factory workshop manual covers the 2012 NUDA 900 and NUDA 900 R, from the starting serial numbers listed above. It is the first edition dated 11-2011.

Husqvarna wrote this manual for its service-center technicians with basic mechanical training and a working knowledge of motorcycle repair procedures; elementary instruction is omitted.

Standard vs. R Chassis Coverage

The standard NUDA 900 has a nonadjustable fork and rear-shock spring preload and rebound adjustment. The NUDA 900 R receives fork compression, rebound, and preload settings along with rear-shock compression, rebound, preload, and length adjustment.

Separate setup tables cover normal use, passenger and pannier loading, and the R Motard configuration. The manual identifies the Motard setup as track-only and does not recommend it for road use.

Fork servicing covers both models, with R-specific instructions for recording and restoring adjuster settings and separate oil-level data. These distinctions help match the service procedure to the fitted fork before disassembly.

Rear-shock coverage includes removal, spring replacement, and adjustment. The manual directs servicing of the R-model shock absorber to an authorized Öhlins center; internal shock overhaul is not covered.

Front-end disassembly and steering-bearing service sit alongside swingarm removal, axle-runout, rim-deformation, and sprocket-wear checks. Variant-specific final-drive gearing is also documented.

This edition has no ABS repair chapter, and its dashboard section marks the ABS warning light as unused.

Internal Engine and Transmission Repair

The engine coverage follows the liquid-cooled inline twin from routine service into internal repair. Dedicated chapters address camshafts and rocker arms, valves, connecting rods, the balance mechanism, and main bearings.

Clutch and gearbox: Coverage extends to the clutch pack, selector-shaft seals, starter drive, transmission input and output shafts, shift drum, and engagement forks. Timing-chain replacement is documented with the engine removed.

Engine-specific torque sequences and replacement-fastener notes are kept separate from the chassis torque section. Wear-limit tables identify inspection points for the major internal parts, with clearances, fluid capacities, and electrical test data provided in the relevant sections.

Fuel Injection and Electrical Diagnosis

Fuel and electrical diagnosis combines symptom/cause/remedy charts with component tests. ECU-controlled injection coverage identifies the injectors, throttle-position and pressure sensors, Lambda sensor, and exhaust-valve actuator.

Location views cover the diagnostic connector, crankshaft and gear-position sensors, relays, switches, and harness connectors. Charging-output checks, starter and relay inspection, and ignition-coil resistance testing support fault isolation.

Diagrams: The main wiring diagram is accompanied by fuel-pump hydraulic and electric diagrams, voltage-regulator/rectifier and starter-relay diagrams, the stick-coil wiring view, and the engine cooling circuit.

Diagnostic-tool requirements: ECU, ignition-lock, and combined-dashboard replacement require a compatible diagnostic tool and its guided procedure; that wizard is not reproduced in the PDF.

Required Tooling and Repair Cautions

Major procedures call for an engine support, clutch-hub holding tool, pullers, press tools, multimeter, torque wrench, and the diagnostic equipment noted above.

A clutch repair caution keeps threadlocker out of the clutch-shaft oil nozzle, where contamination could restrict lubrication. The charging-system section warns that disconnecting the battery while the engine is running can irreparably damage the voltage regulator.

Fuel-system service and cooling-system work involve flammable fuel and pressurized hot coolant. Review the manual's ventilation, electrical-isolation, cooldown, and PPE precautions before beginning disassembly.
