The older sections carry 2JY/2JX and 2YG/3AW model identifiers; their purpose here is to provide the base procedures Yamaha calls out for the 2001 models.

The 2001 supplement is the first edition dated November 2000. The cover names TW200N/TW200NC, while specification tables and diagrams use TW200EN/TW200ENC. That naming difference appears within the Yamaha publication itself, and both sets of names point to model codes 5FY8 and 5FY9.

2001 Engine and Carburetor Changes

Its specification section identifies a 196cc air-cooled, four-stroke SOHC single and the MV28/TEIKEI carburetor. It separates the two model configurations by carburetor ID—5FY10 for TW200EN and 5FY00 for TW200ENC—and supplies different main-jet, jet-needle position, and pilot-air-jet data where required. The carburetor chapter reaches beyond a settings chart: it covers the piston valve and diaphragm, starter plunger, coasting enricher, needle valve and seat, float, jets, fuel passages, hoses, assembly checks, and fuel-level measurement with gauge YM-01312-A.

Engine-specific update pages show cylinder-head removal around the automatic timing-chain tensioner, tensioner inspection and reset for installation, and the revised stator-coil and pickup-coil assembly.
