Instrument Functions and WP Chassis Tuning

The combination instrument section covers ODO, TRIP 1/TRIP 2, fuel-reserve TRIP F, GEAr display, and coolant temperature monitoring. Routine care extends to tire pressures for solo and loaded use, winter operation, storage, and checks before returning the vehicle to service.

Separate WP 4357 ROMA (Duke) and WP 4357 ROTA SPLIT (Duke R) data help you match suspension settings to the correct equipment. The R's fork adjustment sections distinguish left-leg compression from right-leg rebound.

WP 4618 rear shock specifications are also separated by model, with high- and low-speed compression and rebound adjustments described for the R. The spring preload procedure identifies hook wrench T106S.

For the Duke R, spring preload adjustment calls for shock absorber and main silencer removal as preparatory work; those removal procedures are not explained in this manual.

Footrest and control adjustments include the Duke's shift lever on a splined shaft and the R's adjustable linkage with a left-hand-threaded nut.

KTM warns that excessive chain tension can damage transmission and rear-wheel bearings. The rear hub inspection section also explains how worn rubber dampers can damage the sprocket carrier and hub.

Engine Service, Cooling and Repair Scope

The oil service procedure covers both oil filters and both oil screens, with reverse circlip pliers 51012011000 identified for filter removal.

Cooling coverage explains radiator-cap pressure control, the compensating tank, and the thermoswitch-controlled fan.

Internal engine and transmission repair procedures are outside the scope of this owner's manual. Valve-clearance checks and KTM diagnostic-tool work appear in the service schedule without full procedures for those tasks.

For any repair or adjustment, observe the specified torques and the manual's precautions for brake work, hot coolant, and the pressurized shock absorber.

FI Blink Codes and Electrical Fault Finding

The troubleshooting chart links starting problems, power loss, overheating, ABS warnings, and battery discharge to possible causes and recommended checks. FI blink-code tables identify faults involving the crankshaft position sensor, fuel pump relay, ignition coils, and drive-by-wire (DBW) throttle controls.

These definitions help narrow the affected component or circuit before further diagnosis. Fault-memory readout is referred to the KTM diagnostics tool; wiring diagrams and connector pinout tests are outside this manual's scope.

Torque Tables and Illustrated References

Engine and chassis torque tables cover fasteners such as the front footrest brackets and rear wheel spindle. Reference sections provide fluid capacities, KTM LC4 oil requirements, fuel requirements, cold valve clearances, spark plug identification, electrical ratings, and brake disc wear limits.

Illustrations include the front-left and rear-right vehicle views, ABS component layout, chain-wear measurement, headlight aiming, and cooling-system component locations.

Examples of Fork Settings and Cold Tire Pressures

For the Duke R fork, the standard compression and rebound settings are each 12 clicks out from fully closed. Separate recommendations cover comfort, sport, and full-payload use.

Cold tire-pressure data distinguish load conditions: the rear tire is specified at 2.0 bar (29 psi) for solo use and 2.2 bar (32 psi) with a passenger or a full load.
