Pontiac Solstice & GXP 2007 Service Manual Collection

The Solstice service articles combine mechanical repair procedures with separate diagnostic, electrical, chassis and body information. Some articles overlap between the Solstice and GXP folders; the owner’s manual covers operation and scheduled maintenance.

Application limits: The Solstice files contain both 2006 and 2007 applications, as identified above. The separate ECOTEC material includes LSJ/Saturn Ion information and general references; select the vehicle-specific Solstice articles for LNF and LE5 work. The LSJ guide contains Chapters 1–2 only, excluding the later upgrade-installation and race-engine chapters listed in its contents.

Mechanical Diagnosis and Internal Engine Repair

Mechanical diagnosis distinguishes a basic misfire from faults accompanied by lower-engine or valve-train noise, coolant consumption or excessive oil use. Separate charts address start-up and load-related noise, a crankshaft that will not rotate, and coolant entering the cylinders or engine oil.

Compression and cylinder-leakage tests complement oil-pressure, oil-leak and crankcase-ventilation checks. Drive-belt charts cover chirp, squeal, whine, rumble, vibration, tracking, wear and tensioner faults. Pairing these mechanical checks with the engine-control symptom articles supports fault isolation before engine teardown.

Out-of-vehicle repair includes block and bedplate inspection, crankshaft journal and runout checks, bearing and piston measurement, piston-ring inspection, valve and camshaft checks, and oil-pump disassembly and assembly.
