The volumes are companion references: Volume 1 covers maintenance, engines, lubrication, cooling, fuel and emissions; Volume 2 handles driveline, chassis, body, HVAC and electrical repair. Both contain the General Information section.

Corrosion repair: Body alignment, trim and glass service are included, but repairs to corroded areas are referred to a separate Nissan Corrosion Repair Manual.

Two PDF Volumes and Foldout Diagrams

Search, navigation and wiring detail: Neither PDF has searchable text or embedded bookmarks. Small wiring labels require zooming, particularly on the wide electrical foldout in Volume 2.

The ZIP contains two printable English-language PDFs totaling 2,397 pages, including six front-matter pages, Volume 1's publication page and five blank separator pages in Volume 2. Foldout wiring diagrams are included in these totals.

Factory identification tables separate B13 sedan, coupe and T-bar-roof bodies from N14 sedan and hatchback configurations. Destination codes distinguish European, Middle Eastern and other markets, alongside left-/right-hand-drive and 2WD/4WD applications.

These tables help match the correct repair section or wiring diagram to the actual build before parts, test points or adjustment data are selected. EL separately explains Type I and Type II electrical configurations.

Engine Service, Maintenance and Fuel Diagnosis

Engine chapters cover E10S, GA13DS, GA14DS, GA16DS, GA16DE, SR20DE, SR20DET, CD17 and CD20 applications. Fuel coverage distinguishes carbureted GA/E engines, GA16DE and SR-series electronic injection, and CD diesels; CONSULT coverage applies to GA16DE and SR20DE.

Maintenance schedules separate markets outside Europe, Europe excluding the U.K., and the U.K., with severe-driving schedules. LC adds oil-pressure checks, oil-pump inspection, thermostat testing, water-pump service and radiator-fan electrical circuits.

The diesel section provides injection-pump disassembly and assembly, but refers additional pump calibration data to technical bulletins or Zexel calibration standards.

Turning the crankshaft and camshaft separately after removing the timing chain or belt can cause valve-to-piston contact. The SR chapters also include handling and disposal precautions for sodium-filled exhaust valves.

Preparation tables identify the ST0501S000 engine stand assembly, ST2505S001 automatic-transaxle pressure-gauge set, KV38101900 master gauge for bearing-shim selection and KV999G0010 fuel-tank lock-ring socket. Commercial equivalents are identified where permitted.

Standard-bolt and component torque tables sit alongside refill capacities, pressure-test data, wear limits, shim charts, belt/valve adjustments and electrical test values.

Follow the GI lifting and towing precautions before supporting or moving the vehicle. Fuel, cooling, brake and R12 refrigerant chapters include task-specific safety and equipment requirements.

Examples of Compression and Differential Clearances

For GA engines, the compression-test section specifies a standard pressure of 1,324 kPa and a minimum of 1,128 kPa with the engine warm, throttle fully open and cranking speed at 350 rpm.

For RN4F30A, RS5F30A and RS5F31A final drives, the allowable clearance between the side gear and differential case, with the thrust washer installed, is 0.1–0.2 mm. Separate washer tables distinguish GA16DE from other applications.
