Xerox Manual Features & Content Preview
Covers the 1996–1997 Xerox 5614, 5113, and 5114 copier series, including both 50 Hz and 60 Hz power configurations. This is Xerox service manual P/N 701P09830, the April 1997 reissue replacing the December 1995 documentation.
-
Service calls and fault isolation: Call Flow Diagrams, status indicator Repair Analysis Procedures (RAPs), and Periodic Maintenance schedules.
-
Paper transport and drive: C1–C3 misfeed diagnosis, Bypass Tray service, Main Drive Motor replacement, and paper-feed adjustments.
-
Document feeding and optics: Set Document Feeder (SDF) service, Lens Drive Motor replacement, optical carriage alignment, and registration adjustments for 1:1 and reduction/enlargement (R/E) configurations.
-
Xerographics: Developer Assembly and Transfer/Detack Corotron service, High Voltage Power Supply (HVPS) testing, Auto Developer Setup, and Copy Defect Tables with Image Defect Samples.

-
Wiring and parts identification: Plug/Jack Locational Drawings, Electrical Component Wiring Connections Drawings, Component Drawings, exploded-view parts lists, and the Change Tag Matrix.
This manual is intended for certified service personnel trained on these Xerox copiers, with the equipment and experience needed for electrical diagnosis and internal repair.
Fault Isolation for Paper Feed and Image Quality
The diagnostic sections combine voltage checks, sensor actuation tests, and mechanical drive inspections with fault-specific RAPs. Image-quality procedures address background, banding, light images, residual images, and resolution problems.
The Optics/Xerographics Isolation and Processor Skew Isolation procedures help distinguish an optical problem from a xerographic or paper-transport fault before parts are selected. Toner-concentration diagnosis also explains the hexadecimal values shown on the display.
Developer, Optics and PWB Repair
Auto Developer Setup establishes the developer reference after replacement material is installed. Main PWB replacement coverage includes EEPROM handling and configuration checks for stored NVM values.
Optical adjustments distinguish fixed-ratio and R/E machines. The scan-rail adjustments are factory settings, and the manual notes that special equipment is needed for optimal results.
The developer replacement instructions warn that material entering the drive gears can damage drive components. The Lower Rear Cover procedure identifies another repair risk: an overlong screw can damage the Lower PWB.
Wiring Data and Configuration-Specific Parts
Wiring data for the Main, Lower, and Input Power PWBs combines pin references, signal levels, and component locations. The Corotron and Developer Bias Power and Fusing Heat Control diagrams trace the xerographic power circuits and fuser controls.
The exposure lamp's overtemperature fuse belongs to the optics circuit; fuser protection uses its own thermostat and thermistor. The optics heater can remain live with the copier switched off, and the manual requires power-cord disconnection for work in this area.
Exploded-view parts lists link component callouts to OEM part numbers, including regional differences and W/Tag versus W/O Tag configurations. The Change Tag Matrix and serial-specific SDF left counterbalance retrofit entries help match replacement parts to the copier's build.
The manual is primarily in English. The parts-list contents and introductory pages are in Spanish; the illustrated parts entries are in English.
A Preview of Registration and Fuser Settings
These are a few of the manual's registration and temperature specifications.
For the Registration Buckle check, lead-edge registration must not vary by more than 0.5 mm across a ten-copy test run at 100%, using Tray 1 or the Bypass Tray.
The 1:1 and R/E lead-edge registration checks specify 10 mm ± 1 mm from the copy edge to the test pattern's 10 mm line at 100% magnification. Fuser temperature selection covers 175–200°C in 5°C increments.
PDF Navigation and Included Pages
Text search, bookmarks, and wiring labels: PDF text search is not available. A single Cover Page bookmark leads to the first page; there are no chapter bookmarks. Small labels in the power-supply, corotron, and fuser schematics are legible when enlarged.
The download contains one printable 362-page PDF: 356 manual pages, a two-page transmittal insert, and four pages containing the service log, copy-cartridge report form, and their blank reverses. These inserts are already included in the 362-page total.
