1986–1996 John Deere F911, F915, F925, F932, F935 Front Mower Technical Manual (P/N TM1487)

John Deere TM1487, with a cover date of October 1, 1995, provides repair and diagnostic information for the 1986–1996 F900 Series front mowers: F911, F915, F925, F932, and F935. Applicability follows the serial-number notes and F925 cross-references below.

• Engine and fuel systems: Engine removal and installation, valve-clearance adjustment, diesel injection-pump timing, fuel-system bleeding, and carburetor adjustments.

Serial Ranges and F925 Cross-References

Revision notes distinguish PTO-lever machines at S.N. 010001–120000, the addition of a park lock switch at 120001–150000, and solenoid-actuated PTO configurations at 150001 onward. Later wiring diagrams separate P.I.N. 150001–160000 and 160001 onward for the F911, F925, F932, and F935.

F925 procedures: The fuel system follows the F915; other repair procedures follow the F935. These cross-references help locate the correct procedure when an older chapter heading does not name the F925.

Earlier serials: F915 machines at 420001–750000 and F935 machines at 360001–750000 are assigned to TM1350. F932 machines at 475001–750000 are outside this manual's listed coverage.

Engine Service and Component-Manual Requirements

Engine removal, external service, compression testing, and fuel-system adjustments are covered. Complete engine repair requires separate component manuals: CTM39 for the F911's Kawasaki FD620D, CTM3 for the Yanmar diesels, and CTM12 for the F932's Yanmar gasoline engine.

Those component manuals are not included. Carburetor rebuilding and diesel injection-pump, nozzle, and governor repair are also referred to the applicable component manual.

Hydrostatic Drive, Steering, and Deck Repair

The transmission chapter includes a Cross Section of Transmission drawing and internal inspection of cylinder blocks, pistons, and swashplates. Symptom-based test charts connect slow or erratic travel to linkage, suction-line, charge-pump, and relief-valve checks, helping narrow the fault before transmission disassembly.

Hydraulic testing: Charge-pump pressure and flow tests, steering leakage checks, and lift-cylinder and control-valve leakage tests include equipment requirements. The JT01765 hydraulic fitting kit is identified for test connections. A System Schematic Diagram shows the steering, lift, weight-transfer, and transmission circuits together.

Steering-valve handling: Clamping the valve directly in a vise can damage it. The overhaul section specifies a holding fixture, with a fabrication drawing in Section 299.

Deck service distinguishes 50-, 60-, 72-, and 76-inch spindle assemblies and covers gearbox bearing, race, and shim relationships. Brake and linkage sections address service-park brakes, individual turning brakes, neutral return, and cruise control.

Follow the manual's hydraulic-pressure relief precautions before disconnecting lines or servicing lift components.

Electrical Schematics and Test-Point References

For cooling-system service, the table lists total capacities of 3.5 L for the F911 and 4.93 L for the F932.

For differential installation, the frame mounting cap screws are specified at 106 N·m (78 lb-ft), with machine weight on the drive wheels and the screws positioned at the top of the frame slots.
