The special-tool section supplies North American numbers and their 90890-series equivalents for engine, clutch, fuel-injection, and electrical repair. Examples include primary sheave puller YS-01881-A/YS-01881-1 (90890-01898), clutch spider separator YS-28890-C (90890-01711), fuel-pressure adapter YM-03176 (90890-03176), and digital circuit tester YU-A1927 (90890-03174).

The primary-sheave spider has a left-hand thread, and the manual warns that poor support while breaking it loose can crack the assembly. It also requires crankshaft journal bearings and connecting-rod big-end bearings to remain in their matched positions so the specified oil clearances are preserved and engine damage is avoided. Fuel-tank work can leave residual fuel in the hose; clutch, suspension, brake, and track service also requires secure machine support and the specified holding or pulling tools.
