It covers 2-WD and MFWD hardware, two-wheel-steer and all-wheel-steer transaxle configurations, the charge pump, directional control valves, differential lock, mid-PTO clutch and brake, optional 540 rear PTO, hydrostatic pump inspection, transaxle teardown, MFWD final drives, and front axle assemblies. Factory capacities are configuration-specific: 6.6 L (7.0 qt) for two-wheel-steer and four-wheel-drive transaxles and 5.6 L (6.0 qt) for all-wheel-steer units, using J20D Low Viscosity HY-GARD. Hydraulic test data includes 1958 kPa (284 psi) minimum charge pressure and 6371 kPa (924 psi) minimum implement relief pressure, with separate flow specifications for 2-WD and MFWD charge pumps.

The FD671D and FD711D are 745 cc liquid-cooled engines rated at 23 HP and 25 HP. Both use a 1.8 L (1.9 qt) crankcase capacity with filter, while the cooling system holds 4.0 L (4.2 qt). Minimum warm compression is 620 kPa (90 psi), cold valve clearance is 0.15 mm (0.006 in.), and minimum oil pressure is 276 kPa (40 psi). The FD671D section covers carburetor and fuel-pump pressure testing; the FD711D adds EFI-specific injector, fuel-pressure-regulator, air-temperature, vacuum-pressure, and coolant-temperature diagnostics. Its regulator maintains injector fuel pressure at 175 kPa (25 psi).

Electrical diagnosis is equally model-specific. In the hydraulic control valve, the spool and housing are a matched assembly; the spool belongs in its original bore, and the manual specifies new O-rings to prevent leakage after service.
