Model and System Coverage
The publication is built around the KDX200-H1 configuration: a 198 mL liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, piston-reed-valve two-stroke with Kawasaki’s KIPS exhaust-control system, a wet multi-disc clutch, six-speed constant-mesh return-shift transmission, chain final drive, telescopic fork, Uni-Trak rear suspension, and front and rear disc brakes. The manual warns that pressurized nitrogen work is hazardous and calls for a qualified mechanic for that operation.

The KIPS sub-valves and valve rods are side-specific, and their indexing marks must align; mixing sides or missing the marks can produce incorrectly assembled exhaust valves and poor power. The water-pump oil seal must not block the coolant drain passage, and the mechanical seal is pressed rather than hammered to protect its sealing face. Rear-shock circlips must seat correctly before nitrogen charging, because an improperly retained reservoir cap or push-rod assembly can be forced out under pressure.
For bottom-end work, the manual covers crankcase splitting, crankshaft removal, bearing installation, runout measurement, alignment checks, and transmission inspection. It also sets a clear scope limit: crankpin press work and crankshaft assembly are described as operations for a shop with the required tools and equipment, not as a fully developed home-bench crankshaft rebuilding procedure.
