Two manual-specific service traps are worth noting. Excess primary-chaincase lubricant can cause rough clutch engagement, clutch drag, and difficulty finding neutral. The lighting section also warns that fingerprints can etch a quartz headlamp bulb and shorten its service life. Fuel-system, battery, brake, and tire work carries factory warnings and dealer-service limits.

Added Instruction Sheets and Important Scope

The added J00718 sheet covers FLHR windshield kits for 1994-and-later Road King models and includes installation, care, and service-parts views. J02876 covers windshield mounting hardware kit 58221-04 for 2004-and-later FLHRS/I models. Service Bulletin M-1128 adds TSM/TSSM-to-ECM password-learn tables using Digital Technician, Scanalyzer, or manual mode for Delphi fuel-injected motorcycles, including 2002-and-later Touring models.

This publication is an owner’s manual, not a full repair manual. It does not contain internal engine or transmission repair, DTC test trees, connector pinouts, or electrical wiring schematics. For major repair work, the owner’s manual’s service-literature table points to the separate Service Manual P/N 99483-07 and Electrical Diagnostics Manual P/N 99497-07; neither publication is included.

This 92-page PDF is incomplete within the original E-page sequence. Pages E-12, E-30 through E-44, E-52, E-84, E-90, and E-92 through E-94 are absent. The largest practical gap is the Advanced Audio System chapter: only page E-29 is retained, while the radio, CD/MP3, intercom, CB, audio-routing, and audio-troubleshooting pages listed for E-30 through E-44 are missing.
