Engine Repair and Leak Diagnosis

Pressure and vacuum tests help distinguish engine air leaks from carburetor adjustment problems when a saw idles poorly or hesitates under throttle. The vacuum test addresses oil seals that leak during the induction stroke, giving the technician a way to investigate these symptoms before an internal engine teardown.

The internal repair sections distinguish the replaceable small-end needle bearing on the MS 230 and MS 250 from the MS 210 arrangement.
