Operation and Routine Maintenance

Hydrostatic braking must be released before winching or the transmission pumps can be damaged. Valve spools are matched to their bores and must not be interchanged during repair. Attempting to remove a ram piston head without first removing its retaining dowel or set screw can damage both the head and rod; the specified sleeve protects new rod seals during assembly.
Raised loader or backhoe structures require positive support and suitable lifting equipment, and trapped hydraulic pressure must be vented before lines or components are opened. These repair procedures are intended for trained personnel following the publication's safety instructions.
