Internal engine coverage extends to valve guides and seats, piston rings, crankshaft bearings, cylinder inspection and camshaft alignment. The turbo engine receives separate valve-rocker oil-pivot checks. Compression-pressure specifications distinguish turbo and non-turbo engines.

Timing-chain illustrations show alignment marks and the chain-support tool KV10105800 used during cylinder-head removal. The assembly cautions address valve-to-piston contact that can result from rotating the crankshaft and camshaft independently.

For the non-turbo L28E, the valve-adjustment section specifies hot clearances of 0.25 mm intake and 0.30 mm exhaust. These values accompany the illustrated valve-clearance procedure.

Ignition specifications list a spark-plug gap of 1.0–1.1 mm. Approximate coolant refill capacities distinguish 10.5 liters with the reservoir from 9.7 liters without it, rather than presenting one capacity without its filling condition.
